Seeking your picks
With the new year, we are closer to the more serious time of the hockey season, the chase to get into the playoffs.
So I pose a question to the general public: Which teams are the teams to watch and why?
Personally, every time I catch the Sabres play, I'm impressed, more so than Anaheim. I think Buffalo has an incredibly fast team that puts on a lot of pressure and doesn't seem to have trouble scoring. Plus, a great young goaltender.
What do y'all see?

I would go with Buffalo or Montreal in the East; Anaheim in the West. I would not rule out Detroit this early. It will all depend on Hasek staying healthy.

What's really interesting about Detroit this year (it began last year but has really picked up this season) is how tough their D is.
Detroit gives up a remarkably low number of shots, and hence decent chances, to its opponents.
Which certainly helps an old guy like Hasek.
